Free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs claims he was "threatened with a deadly weapon" by a reality television star as part of a "tale of abuse to extort millions of dollars," the Houston Chronicle reported on Thursday (February 27).

Diggs, 31, who spent one season with the Houston Texans in 2024, is suing Mia Jones, also known as Mulan Hernandez, as part of a six-count lawsuit filed in Harris County, Texas, earlier this week. The wide receiver is seeking damages related to "defendant misconduct and the destruction of his property" as part of the lawsuit, which also lists Brianna 'Brii' Mack as a defendant.

Attorney Kent Schaffer, who represents Diggs, described his client's relationship with Jones as "casual" in the months leading up to the alleged June 7 incident. Jones, who appeared on the series Basketball Wives Orlando, is accused of destroying Diggs' apartment and having "refused to leave" in the lawsuit.

The reality star reportedly went to the hospital on the morning of the alleged incident for "nausea and vomiting" which stemmed from a "long" night of partying, according to the lawsuit. Jones was reportedly released from the hospital within an hour and denied having suffered "physical abuse of any kind," before taking a second medical visit a week later and claiming to have been "punched in the back of the head with a closed fist," according to the Houston Chronicle.

Schaffer denied the accusations and claimed Jones hadn't seen Diggs on the day she made the complaints, while the lawsuit instead accuses Jones of having hit Diggs in the chest and allegedly having tried to punch him in the head, with the incident resulting in a broken wristwatch and PC gaming system owned by the wide receiver.

Diggs suffered a season-ending injury eight games into his first year with the Texans, having been acquired in an offseason trade with the Buffalo Bills. The former University of Maryland standout is a four-time Pro Bowler and was selected as a first-team All-Pro in 2020, having led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards, as well as a second-team All-Pro in 2022.

Diggs recorded 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games during the 2024 NFL season.
