How Freestyling Is Helping Lil Blast Take The Music Industry By Storm

From Minneapolis–Saint Paul, home to record breaking snowfall, Lil Blast is ready to take the music industry by storm. Growing up, Lil Blast escaped death after being shot 9 times at 15 years old and spending time in Juvenile detention. Despite people around the Hip-Hop artist saying he wouldn’t make it out of his town, the words of his mother pushed him to be great. Reflecting on her words, Lil Blast expresses, ‘My mom told me I’m her youngest boy, her golden child, and I am going to be a star.’ And, she was right. After going viral from his rendition of Ginuwine's ‘Differences,’ Lil Blast’s talent was on the verge of taking him to new heights.

Though the Hip-Hop artist takes pride in representing the rap genre, he admits that his sound isn’t finished. In a music industry where everyone is starting to sound the same, there’s one thing that differentiates Lil Blast - his sound. When asked to define it, the rapper said, “I would describe my sound as ear catching. I got a good base to my sound but I’m nowhere near my full potential.” The answer to his unique style is simple: freestyling. When it comes to being in the studio, Lil Blast creates something on the spot as opposed to overthinking every line and melody.

After starting music in 2020 and fully investing his time and money into his career this year, Lil Blast’s quick success is no surprise. Inspired by iconic artists like Tupac, Lyfe Jennings, and Lil Durk, Lil Blast’s inspirations proves that he refuses to limit himself to one path. Similar to Tupac, Lil Blast wants to leave his mark in a major way by being the first rapper coming out of Minnesota to impact the music industry. With a self-proclaimed “crazy” life’s story, the rising rapper wants to “touch my listeners soul, I want them to understand where I’m coming from.”

Yes, Lil Blast’s music has reached over 300K streams on YouTube, but he is nowhere close to slowing down. Currently spending his time working on his anticipated project, Stars of the Streets, a 10 song album, Lil Blast proudly claims, ‘In my eyes I don’t see competition.’
