Houston-based artist Mike Atlas isn’t holding back! The rising hip-hop star releases his latest single “Graveyard Story” alongside a captivating music video. Describing music as “the most artistic journey in existence,” Mike got involved back in 2000 when he started writing poetry and music. But it wasn’t until a few years later when his brother had him record his first hook that he really decided to pursue it as a career.
Atlas uses two words to describe his sound: lethal and melodic. When it comes to musical influences, the up-and-comer has a long list of names. From artists like Andre 300, Nipsey Hussle, and Jay-Z, to Michael Jackson, Drake, and Chris Brown, Mike is certainly inspired by some of the greatest in Hip-Hop and R&B - and he’s looking to do the same with his music. “I want to inspire change and show anything is possible through hard work and dedication. I want to reach all demographics of all ages,” he says. Known as a ‘lyrical nightmare’, Mike wants listeners to hear and feel the love in every word, from every song. “I am very authentic and the root of my music is for pure intentions only. Plus my skill set is unmatched!!!”
Aside from his current work, Atlas is also considering getting into acting but for the time being, music is the main focus. With an album in the works and his single “Graveyard Story” out now, the emerging artist is determined to stay in the music industry and perhaps even give producing a shot. As for future plans, Mike is all about staying consistent and working on his craft. “After I release this album, there will be a flux of content coming for everyone’s enjoyment. More music, mixtapes, videos, movies, and becoming the bridge for the next generation to prosper.”
