The Most 'Interesting' Texas Wildfire Names: Beaver Nugget, Kid Rock & More

Do you ever wonder how Texas wildfires get their names? While they seem outlandish, they're typically linked to where the fire started. Names are also chosen by those responding to the fire, including first responders, incident commanders and dispatchers.

So whatever these first responders are feeling or craving that day might trickle into what the wildfire is named.

The Texas A&M Forest Service this week revealed the full list of wildfire names for the 2022 fire season (December 9, 2021 to August 29, 2022). Crews responded to over 1,700 wildfires that burned nearly 600,000 acres. Here's a look at some of the hilarious and wacky names picked to represent wildfires in Texas this year:
