Illegal Immigration Surge Hits Border

The Department of Homeland Security says a growing surge of illegal immigration has hit the southern border in Texas. University of Texas El Paso Professor Victor Manjarres has been to the border and says the illegals he talked to say they aren't afraid of being caught by the Border Patrol and don't believe they'll face any consequences if they are apprehended. Many were previously hesitant to make the journey because of former President Trump's remain-in-Mexico protocol. That policy kept asylum seekers south of the border while they waited for their hearing.
