U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested a woman from Houston after discovering $2,446,000 worth of alleged methamphetamine concealed in a vehicle at the Hidalgo International Bridge.

“This was an excellent discovery of hard narcotics, amid the travel restrictions we are currently operating under,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/ Anzalduas. “This exemplifies OFO’s commitment and continued resolve to prevent drugs from crossing our borders.”

The Border Patrol says an officer at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge encountered a 1999 Ford F150 pickup driven by a 20-year-old woman. Officers discovered 122.3 pounds (55.48 kg) of alleged methamphetamine hidden within the truck’s gas tank.
